Who is WE MOVE for?

WE MOVE is a project for children and teens with refugee or migrant backgrounds. It doesn’t matter to us whether you’ve been living in Germany for a while, were born here, or have only been living in Gotha for a few weeks. You don’t need to speak German to join WE MOVE—we can communicate just fine with hand gestures, body language, or translation apps.

What do we do at WE MOVE?

WE MOVE consists of weekly group sessions and regular workshops. During our weekly group sessions, we do whatever we feel like: cooking, playing UNO, dancing, or just hanging out together. In our workshops, we explore different topics and try out various activities—rap, writing, photography, or theater. We decide together what we want to learn and what we want to work on. Step by step, this leads to a performance - which we develop, rehearse, and ultimately present together. We also like to go on day trips, depending on what we feel like doing: to the zoo, the movies, or the pool.
